If you've ever wondered whether your bra actually fits, there's a simple trick used by fitters everywhere: the 2 finger rule. It takes seconds and tells you if your band, straps, and center gore are the right size.

1. The Band Test

The band does 80% of the support work. After putting your bra on the loosest hook, slide two fingers under the band at your back. If you can fit two fingers comfortably — not too tight, not loose — the band fits. If you can fit your whole hand, the band is too loose. If you can't get two fingers in, it's too tight.

2. The Strap Test

Slide two fingers under one shoulder strap near your shoulder. They should fit snugly without the strap digging in or sliding off. If the straps are digging grooves, they're too tight — loosen them or check if your band size is actually too big (straps compensate for a loose band).

3. The Center Gore Test

The center gore (the fabric between the cups) should lie flat against your sternum. Try slipping two fingers under it. If the gore lifts away from your chest, your cups are too small. If it digs in, the band may be too tight or the cup shape is wrong for you.

What If the 2 Finger Rule Fails?

If any part fails, don't buy that size. Try a sister size instead — same cup volume, different band. For example, if 34B has a tight band, try 36A. If the band is loose, try 32C. Use our Size Converter to explore your options across different countries.
